looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our team to support our U.S. Coast Guard customer. The candidate will assist in all decision support functions and the annual operating and capital budget processes, utilizing problem-solving skills and customer service responsiveness.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create new procedures for audit areas within the property department.
  • Create and assist implementation of accounting instructions to conform to the USSGL.
  • Assist in gathering information for quarterly and year-end adjustments.
  • Research treasury codes and how they apply to the property department.
  • Create desk guides to streamline daily tasks dealing with the processes within the property department.
  • Assist prime contractor with the creation and editing of new bids.
  • Review bi-annual inventories of capitalized assets and assist field units with questions.
  • Assist with preparation of materials for audit remediation and observed and supported resolution of audit finding
  • Review asset packages for addition to the financial system and retirement from the financial system to ensure conformity with established procedures such as the date in service, cost support, and hand-off of asset custody.
  • Prepare quarterly journal vouchers to distribute funds to correct appropriations due to posting logic issues.
  • Analyze business events within the property to ensure posting logic is correct.
  • Prepare journal entries to correct business events posted to the wrong accounts or expenditure codes.
  • Participate in working groups to create new processes.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or associated field
  • Minimum of Eight (8) years of relevant accounting and auditing experience
  • Must have two (2) years of relevant federal government work experience
  • Experience with auditing federal agency’s financial statements, performing audit readiness work as a government employee or contractor directly in support of an audit readiness task order
  • Designing and developing SharePoint workflow management systems for government agencies

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Active CPA certification
  • CGFM
